PROMS 2.00 was released in 1992 and the first sales were made in October of that year. Each subsequent year saw the release of a new improved version, from 2.01 in 1993 to 2.07 in 1997.

Each new version has been driven principally by customer and prospect requests, so that the product always reflects and provides for the needs of the users. PROMS was made fully Year 2000 compatible in version 2.06.

developments
1998 was devoted to the development of PROMS 3.00 for Windows with the aim of converting the code from DOS text screens to Windows dialogs. An initial evaluation version was made available in July 1999.

2006 saw the conversion of the Version 3 16-bit code to Version 4 32-bit code, which was compiled using Harbour and C++
